The following are my top health and fitness tips! You are here because you have made the decision to get healthy, or you want to get back into the routine of going to the gym again. That is great! Let’s get motivated and start the journey. There is no better time than now to get back on the horse and get your health back .
If you have any questions on the top left is the comment section , also i will be adding more post , on exercises and diet plans to cover your daily or weekly needs.
Let’s create the structure
For beginners, or just someone that has stopped going to the gym regularly, it can be difficult to get back on track if they don’t have any idea how to start again. We are in a society where we want things right now, and we are not willing to put the effort in to achieve our goals .
Without structure, we would not be able to get anywhere in life, let alone see the results that we want to, especially when you are trying to achieve a healthy lifestyle. If you want to see results you have start with a solid foundation and then built upon it. That will make it a lot easier to see the results and then help you to continue to follow through.
Let’s face it, everyone sees a commercial for a new miracle product or diet that promises you can shed those extra pounds without ever hitting the gym. Or how about that new exercise machine that in a few weeks will either become a dust collector or a new laundry drying rack. Unfortunately, the results from these products do not always come as expected. I’ve found the best way to go about it would be to get a plan and be willing to put the time and effort in to reach your goals .
Set Realistic Goals
I know that most people go to the gym to start working out, but have yet to set a goal. “I just want to lose weight” they say, but how much?, If you don’t set a goal then your final results might seem much farther away than they actually are. One tip I can give you is to set small goals.
Use your small goal achievements as motivators. Who isn’t happy when they meet their set goals? Use that motivation to continue on with your next small goal.
For example, let say you want to lose a total of 50 lbs. That 50lb weight loss would be a BIG goal. Let’s set your first SMALL goal for 10lbs. Once you hit that first goal, you know you are going in the right direction.
Negativity is NOT welcome
Negativity is at the top of my list of why people ditch their healthy eating habits and exercise routines. ” Why are you wasting your time at the gym?”, “Why would you pick salad over pizza?”, “This soda tastes so much better than that protein shake your drinking, ya know!” These are examples of the negativity that you can expect from the people that surround you on a daily basis.
Its easy to give into the negative comments, this will bring your progress to a screeching halt, and possibly sending you back to square one, always remember why you started on this journey in the first place .
Stand your ground . It gets easier as your progress start to show. You are in a better mood, you feel less fatigue and more energetic, the ability to brush off negativity only benefits you.
Stay Of The Scale
When you have a visual on your progress you know that you are on the right track, but in the beginning jumping on the scale every day would not really tell you the reality of your results.
If you notice after a couple of weeks that some of your clothes are starting to be loose, but the scale gives you the same reading from the day you started, it does not mean you are not making progress, you are actually losing inches on your waist and the pounds will follow .
I will recommend that on day 1 you weight yourself, and take measurements, and take a picture, this will be for your before profile for your personal information, and after 3 months go back and take those measurements again, jump in the scale and you will see that you are actually reaching your goals .
The Diet Plan
I realize that everyone likes to take this to the extreme, the first plan of action is to skip meals, or starve yourself and is a big no no, specially the first week of your diet shocking your system and deprive it from food right away is not healthy, will do more harm than good in the end .
First and foremost, consult with your doctor about starting a diet plan, not all diets are created equal, and always remember to add an exercise routine to complement your diet plan . 80% of success on losing weight and living a healthy lifestyle starts in the kitchen .
The word “DIET” is something everyone struggle with, it means to them ” I have to give up on all my junk food” or ” I will become a rabbit ” just eating salads every day . In reality you don’t have to give up anything at all, smart decisions on your meals and portions is what will make you succeed without giving up on your favorites foods.
6 meals a day is recommended as a guideline for a diet plan, always making them normal portions for every meal, including protein shakes as meal replacements, or having fruits or peanuts as a snack, and that can count as a meal as well.
